Villa Venetian
A Mediterranean shell, emptied of weight.
Set on the water's edge in Jumeirah Islands, Villa Venetian keeps the tiled roofline and proportions of its neighbours, then strips the interior back to light, stone and air. A double-height glazed core opens the house to the lake; everything else recedes into off-white micro-cement and ribbons of dark timber.
K4 delivered the project end to end, structure, glazing, marble, joinery, lighting, automation and landscaping, tuning each room to a single, restrained palette so the water and the sunset do the decorating.
Two storeys of light.
The heart of the house is a double-height volume where a cascading porcelain-petal chandelier descends past a full-height window to the lake. A linear flame fireplace and a sculptural mirror anchor the dining table; the lounge sits a step away, all held in the same hushed, light-filled palette.
A quiet, dark-wrapped retreat.
A full-height fumed-timber headboard wall grounds the principal bedroom, set against pale floors and a soft grey rug. A tan leather daybed, a glazed dressing corner and a window to the garden keep the room generous and serene.
02, Principal suite
Black walls, white light.
Floor-to-ceiling matte-black joinery, lit on every shelf, lines a compact study that opens through a bay window to the pool. A pale desk and a pair of cane-and-ebony chairs keep the room sharp, considered and entirely bespoke.
From driveway to water's edge.
Outside, the house is staged for dusk, a lit, illuminated-stone pool and sunken lounge facing the Dubai skyline, and an arrival court where uplit palms and rose beds frame the floodlit façade.
